Troop Camping Skills - Tent (Overnight) (Brewster)
Completion of this overnight course will allow you to take your troop camping on GSEM property in tents or lodges.
Learn how girls can plan and carry out a camping trip using the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. You will learn ways to help girls discover, connect, and take action while planning and participating in an overnight camping experience. Preparation and progression will be covered as important elements in a successful camping experience along with safety and risk management, what to bring on a camping trip, fire building, menus and meals, outdoor manners, and the Girl Scout outdoor program. Take this course 6-8 weeks prior to your camping trip in order to involve the girls in the planning process. Pre-course work is required and will be sent to you in your confirmation. Please note: a First Aider and a separate Troop Camping-trained person are required for all camping trips. CPR/FA instruction is not part of this session.
