Candidates will be required to submit an application, resume, and letter of recommendation. An interview by members of the Nominating Committee will also be required. Delegate News
The Girl Scouts of the USA 2011 National Council Session/52nd Convention will be held November 10-13, 2011, in Houston, Texas. The National Council Session is held every three years for the purpose of determining the general lines of policy of the Girl Scout Movement and the Girl Scout program. The National Board of Directors and Board Nominating and Development Committee are also elected at this time. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will send 22 adult and girl National Delegates to participate in the convention. Delegate applications have closed at this time. National Council Delegates will be elected at the Annual Meeting on May 12, 2011, and serve for a term of three years.
Regional Delegates
Regional Delegate positions are open to registered members of GSUSA (age 14 or older). Consider serving as a Regional Delegate or tell another member who you feel can fulfill the responsibilities of this important role. It is important to have Regional Delegates who represent the Governance regions of the council. Regional Delegates influence policy formation and commit to attending 2-4 meetings/year including the Regional Delegate Meetings (see link below of dates) and the Annual Meeting.
