Joanne L. Johnson Chair |
Joanne Johnson recently retired after 34 years with Bank of America and FleetBank, most recently as Senior Vice President supporting merger integration and other key corporate projects. She is a past President of Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council, a lifetime member of the organization and was a girl member and troop volunteer. She is active in her community -- a member and past President of the Newburyport Choral Society and Co-Chair of the Hospitality Committee at her church. An Honorary Trustee of Wells College, Joanne served on the Board as its first Student Trustee while President of the College’s Alumnae Association and for one term thereafter. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wells College and a graduate degree in Retail Bank Management from the University of Virginia. She resides in Newbury. | |

Paulette M. Balich First Vice Chair |
For thirty years, Paulette Balich has been a nationally recognized leader in the telecommunications industry. She was Vice President and Region President of Verizon, responsible for personnel, services, engineering and construction in its billion-dollar operation in New England and Upstate New York. She is a licensed real estate salesperson, and is currently working with the Aubergine Group, a family-owned company that develops and sells unique and affordable condominiums. A member of Board of Trustees of her alma mater, Marygrove College, she chairs its Academic Committee and is a member of its Executive Committee. Paulette has been recognized by the Minority Manager’s Association of NETCO, the New England Council of Women and the YWCA for her professional achievements and service. She resides in Beverly. | |

Margaret H. Stevens Second Vice Chair |
Margaret Stevens served as Vice President, Administrative Operations, for the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership in Boston, and previously as Assistant Vice President for Operations at the Tufts Health Plan. She has been associated with Girl Scouting in various capacities for many years, including as President of Girl Scout Council of Vermont Council when she resided there. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a Master’s in Education Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She resides in Waltham and Westport. | |

Denice C. Ware Third Vice Chair |
DC Ware is Director of Human Resources Business Partners for New England Regional Operations of Verizon Telecom, currently managing HR operations support for the merger spin-off transaction of the Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont division with FairPoint Communications. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from Western New England College. DC has completed the Wharton Business School Executive Educational Program and holds a Project Management Master’s Certificate. She has held several board appointments including for the American Cancer Society and the former Springfield Municipal Hospital, and held leadership positions in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is currently President of the New England Chapter of the Women’s Association of Verizon Employees. | |

Michael Tallo Secretary/Clerk |
Mike Tallo has many years of senior management
experience in banking. He is active in his Rotary Club and in the Bankers
Educational Forum. Mike is a member of the Board of Directors at Whidden
Memorial Hospital, and served terms as Senior Vice President and as
Treasurer on the Board of Spar and Spindle Girl Scout Council in the 1990s.

Theresa Brockelman Treasurer |
Theresa Brockelman is a CPA and partner at Deloitte & Touche. She has 14 years of experience auditing mutual funds, brokers, dealers, transfer agents and investment advisers, including planning, execution, research preparation and review of audits, financial statements and SEC reports and filings. She is a member of the firm's National Investment Management Education Committee and a member of the Boston office Training Committee, organizing training sessions for the national practice. Her other affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Theresa holds a Bachelor’s degree from Colby College and an MBA/MS in Accounting from Northeastern University. She resides in Andover. | |

Wendi Haynes Assistant Treasurer |
Wendi Haynes has over twenty years of experience in public accounting, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Manager of Livingston & Haynes, PC. She works primarily in the not-for-profit tax and audit fields, and also provides tax services to high net worth families. She is a member of the Livingston & Haynes quality control committee. Wendi earned a Bachelor’s degree at Bryant College and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. She resides in Duxbury, where she volunteers as a member of a Teen Girl Scout Troop leadership team. | |
| John F. Colbert | John Colbert is the lead audit and assurance specialist at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. He has more than 25 years of experience performing audits and reviews for clients in many industries. He has presented professional education courses on compliance auditing, risk-based auditing and audit efficiency techniques, and has addressed industry groups on the interpretation of financial statements. John is a member of the Accounting and Auditing Committee of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Business Appraisers, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the Rotary Club of Andover. He graduated summa cum laude from Boston College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He resides in Andover. | |
| Gail Forsyth-Vail | Gail Forsyth-Vail is Director of Religious Education at the North Parish of North Andover. In 2007, she received the Angus H. MacLean Award for Excellence in Religious Education. She has served on the Liberal Religious Educator’s Association’s Integrity Team and was President of the Ferry Beach Park Association. She holds degrees from Brown University and Rivier College, and a Master’s level credential in religious education. Gail was a Girl Scout leader from 1987 until 2001, working with Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes, and served on neighborhood service teams for several years. She resides in Georgetown. | |
| Louise A. Freeman | Louise Freeman worked for many years with the University of Massachusetts Extension in public and professional education, community service and program management. She was involved in several professional associations and received numerous awards and recognitions at state and national levels. She is currently an Adjunct Faculty member of Bristol Community College, a Nutrition Consultant for UMass Extension Nutrition Education Program and a partner in her family-owned jewelry business. Louise has a Master of Education degree in Health Science from Bridgewater College and a Bachelor's in Home Economics from Regis College. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Morton Hospital and Medical Center, Inc., and is active in her branch of American Association of University Women. Involved in Girl Scouts for over 35 years, Louise earned the Curved Bar as a girl member and went on to serve in many volunteer leadership roles including Council President (Southeastern Massachusetts, 2000-2006). She resides in Raynham. | |
| Richard J. Goettle | Dick Goettle is a Lecturer in Finance and Economics in the College of Business Administration at Northeastern University, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Managerial Economics, Finance, Investments and Financial Institutions and Markets. He is President, co-founder and principal of Cambridge Planning and Analytics and continues his involvement in the prestigious work of Dale W. Jorgenson and his associates. Dr. Goettle has directed projects for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, the Alliance to Save Energy, Sun Oil, ITT, Raytheon, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, the federal government, the Gas Research Institute, the Electric Power Research Institute, and the Edison Electric Institute, and for agencies in Brazil, Italy and Korea. He was the principal behind the design and development of DATADISK Information Services for Cambridge Planning. Dick is Treasurer of Cold River Camp, a volunteer-managed facility of the Appalachian Mountain Club, and a Director of The Goettle Holding Company, a Cincinnati-based construction firm. He has a BA from Miami University, an MBA from Northwestern University, and a PhD from the University of Cincinnati. | |
| Deborah Heller | Deborah Heller is a partner in HellerCunningham, a management consulting firm offering fresh perspectives on strategy and operations to energize small and large companies in a changing market. She is an experienced public speaker and author of several books and articles. Deborah is a founder of the New England Women’s Fund. She has chaired the boards of directors of New England Women’s Fund and the Fenway Health Center. She is currently Vice-Chair for Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology and a member of the Advisory Board for Stonebridge, Inc. Deborah has received formal recognition for her professional and service contributions by Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail Council, the Fenway Community Health Center and The Boston Club. She earned a Master’s and Doctorate at Boston College and an undergraduate degree at Smith College. | |
| Karen Iolli | Karen Iolli is the founder and owner the Ailano School of Cosmetology, a successful business in Brockton that is now into her family’s second generation of women ownership and management. She is a well-known and active leader in the Brockton business community, and a generous supporter of service organizations in southeastern Massachusetts. Karen was the first woman President of the Rotary Club of Brockton, Secretary of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools, Chair of its national convention, a Director of Cosmetology Educators of America, Past President of the Brockton South Shore Cosmetology Association and Secretary of the American Cancer Society. She is a Trustee of Massasoit Community College and Treasurer of the Cosmetology Association. She was a troop volunteer for over ten years and from 1994-2000, she was President of Plymouth Bay (Southeastern Massachusetts) Girl Scout Council. Her home is in Lakeville. | |
| Cynthia Izzo | Cyndi Izzo is a senior manager in KPMG’s Information Technology Advisory Services Practice, where she is one of the firm’s lead managers for IT External and Internal Audit services for the Northeast. Over the past 12 years, she has led numerous teams on client projects here and abroad, with a book of business exceeding $1.75M. Cyndi is KPMG-Boston’s representative to the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, and is a member of the KPMG Network of Women Leadership Council. In 2006, she sponsored KPMG colleagues at a CEO entrepreneurial business program for Teen Girl Scouts. In recognition of her charitable efforts, Cyndi was awarded the KPMG 2007 Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Volunteer Service. She was named to the Boston Business Journal’s 2007 40 under 40 list, which recognizes Greater Boston’s next generation of business leaders for their career success and community service. | |
| Liz Lynes | Liz Lynes is an experienced Human Resources executive and manager. She is currently Vice President, Human Resources at Wellness/Old Mother Hubbard, the leading provider of healthy, natural dog and cat foods and treats. For several years, she was President of Acuity Strategies, specializing in HR solutions and services for organizations ranging from non-profits and for profit start-ups to established, multi-industry businesses. Previously, she was Vice President, HR at Digitas, Inc., and HR Director at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Boston Scientific and Johnson & Johnson. Liz is a member of SHRM, was a board member for Lena Park Community Development Center and was on the Advisory Council for Project ABLE. She earned an MBA from Suffolk University and a BA from Regis College. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a Girl Scout for many years there as a girl. She now resides in Walpole. | |
| Mimi Moran | As Director of Information Technology at Genzyme Corporation, Mimi Moran introduces innovation to streamline operations through technology in $1.3 billion commercial business units. She partners with customers to understand business objectives and tailor solutions to meet them, managing teams to meet service revenue and goals. Moran is currently the Board Chair of Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail Council, where she also served on the Finance and Legal Management Committee, Nominating Committee, CEO Search Committee, and Fund Development committee. She is a lifetime member with over thirty years of active Girl Scout experience. Moran holds a Bachelor’s degree from Clarke College and a Master’s from Purdue University, and is certified as a Clinical Trials Manager by Boston University. She is former Chair of the Boxborough Historical Commission and of the United Way of Acton-Boxborough, and is a founding Board member of the Children’s Discovery Museum in Acton. She resides in Boxborough. | |
| Suellen Robinson | Suellen Robinson is a Professor of Mathematics at North Shore Community College. She has been an active member of and volunteer for Girl Scouts for 43 years, as a neighborhood administrator, leader, organizer, consultant, trainer and Delegate to Constituency. She has been a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teacher for 13 years. Suellen has a Doctorate in Mathematics Education and is a consultant to the Museum of Science. She resides in Andover. | |
| Vilma Thompson | Vilma Thompson is a Risk Manager for Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island. Previously, she held senior management positions in audits and finance for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of RI, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, John Hancock Financial Services, Polaroid Corporation, State Street Boston Corporation and Rockland Federal Credit Union. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Health Care Compliance Association, the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, the Risk and Insurance Management Society and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Vilma has served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Conference, United Church of Christ (the largest Protestant denomination in Massachusetts), as Chair of its Finance Committee, and in several other capacities locally, statewide and nationally. She is soon to be Vice Chair of the Justice and Witness Ministries and is Chair the Budget and Finance Committee and a member of its Executive Council. Vilma earned a Master’s degree in Business and Finance from Simmons College School of Management, and a BS in Accounting from Northeastern University. She is a resident of Raynham. | |
| Deborah White | Deborah White is a Professional Development Coordinator for the North River Collaborative. She has a Master’s and Doctorate in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, and a BS in Home Economics Education from State University of New York at Oneonta. Dr. White is a part-time adjunct professor at Fitchburg State College, teaching a graduate course in education, and has coordinated international exchange programs for teachers with several school districts in Massachusetts. She is actively involved a variety of committees at her church. She has been active in Girl Scouting throughout her childhood and has been a troop leadership team volunteer and a volunteer on numerous program committees for many years as an adult. She is recipient of the MVP Award for community service. Dr. White resides in Rockland. | |
