She is an Advisory Board member of Junior Achievement and a Trustee of Middlesex Community College. She was part of the Governor’s Commission on Domestic Violence and Child Sexual Abuse and a member of the Governor’s "Kitchen Cabinet" on homelessness. Ruth is a member of the National Partnership for 21st Century Skills advisory group, which is supporting Governor Patrick’s education readiness project. She also works with several other non-profits and government agencies,

with a particular focus on the advancement of women, urban youth, education, homelessness and domestic violence.

Bramson was “honored to be selected to lead the new Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and to be part of the transformation of the organization to better meet the needs of girls in today’s world. Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. We will increase our efforts to ensure that girls of every background, racial/ethnic group, in urban and suburban geography, no matter their family’s socioeconomic level, have access to our programs and services and, through Girl Scouting, can realize their full potential.”

In a career spanning over 25 years, Ruth Bramson has held executive positions with several major corporations including Shaw’s Supermarkets/Star Markets where she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer; Reebok International; and Charles River Laboratories. Ruth is an international lecturer and published author, writing on issues including strategic change, workplace violence and sexual harassment prevention, shared services and work/family balance.
