Camp Favorite is the premier sailing and water sports camp for girls in New England. Now celebrating our 56th season of instilling courage, confidence and character in girls from all over the globe, Camp Favorite offers a diverse and inclusive community, and fosters relationships in an unplugged, natural environment nestled right in the heart of Cape Cod. Our breathtaking property opens onto Long Pond in Brewster, where girls can learn to sail, windsurf, kayak and swim. Two area saltwater beaches provide the backdrop for our advanced sailing and ocean surfing programs.
The camp’s proximity to the Cape Cod Rail Trail and our extensive biking program allow girls to discover new parts of the Cape and Islands on a single trip. The camp’s staff comes from all over the world to support campers in girl-driven programs that are creative, engaging and safe. Each weekly session is unique and girls can choose their challenge! All water and biking programs are designed for skills progression year after year; programs range from beginner to advanced. In addition to the selected program activities, all campers will participate in swimming, boating, campfires, games, crafts and more. One look at a sunset from the beach, a gaze up at the stars, or the crackle of a fire will convince you that Camp Favorite is a unique and special place to spend your summer.

Typical Day at Camp

A typical day at Camp Favorite can be summed up in one word: FUN! One of the ways that we offer that is by allowing the campers to work together with help from their counselors to plan a schedule centered around their interests. Our campers may spend half of their day focusing on their program specialty and the rest of the day exploring other exciting activities that camp has to offer. An emphasis on building friendships, confidence, and leadership skills are incorporated in every activity. At Camp Favorite, no two days will be the same, but each day will be filled with laughter, exploration, and discovery.
About the Director
Molly "Goosey" Clark can't wait to start her 13th summer at Camp Favorite, her first in the role of director. Molly has been a Girl Scout for 17 years, and, at the age of 11, started attending Camp Favorite where she learned to sail and gained important life skills like confidence and independence. Her love for camp led her to become staff, and she has worked as a camp counselor, sailing instructor, sailing manager and waterfront director. Outside of camp, Molly is currently spending a year in Moscow, Russia, where she is teaching English to kids and adults. Molly's favorite parts of camp are themed meals, jumping off the floating dock and singing around the campfire. Molly is excited to take on the role of director and spend another fabulous summer on the Cape!
Our camps have excellent sleeping quarters that allow campers to be close to nature but still have many comforts of home. Campers live in platform tents with 2-3 other girls of their age level who are enrolled in their same program. A unit is a group of nearby tents that house all of the girls in a program and generally have between 10-20 campers. Counselors sleep in separate tents near the girls. Every unit has flush toilets and electricity. See pictures of Camp Favorite sleeping quarters (PDF).
Health & Safety
Camp Favorite is an American Camp Association accredited camp. This means that a nationally recognized organization comes in every 3 years to make sure everything we do (from the meals we serve to the programs we plan) is done in a safe way. By selecting an ACA accredited camp you can be assured your camper is safe.
Our camp is also licensed by the Brewster Board of Health. The local Board of Health has separate local and state standards of health and safety with which we comply.
What to Bring to Camp
Packing for camp can be very hard, especially if you are a first time camper. If you're wondering what you can and can not bring to camp, view a complete packing list (PDF) that will work for all our camp programs. We recommend packing in a camp trunk (less than 12" high) or a soft duffle bag that can fit under your bed. Please label EVERYTHING with your full name.
