We offer fun, hands-on learning -- an enrichment experience that meets girls' needs. Girl Scouts has innovative program activities, events and camps for girls of all interests, all year.
Camp and Outdoor Program
Camping and outdoor activities are still a favorite for girls at every age. In the summer, we offer the opportunity to attend one of our day, resident or family camps. Throughout the year, troops can camp in lodges and tents, learn outdoor and survival skills, and discover nature.
GirlSports—launched February 5, 2014, National Girls and Women in Sports Day—is a Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts initiative designed to inspire girls to develop the courage and confidence to be leaders in sports and in life. Through sport activities that promote self-discovery and sportsmanship, girls will experience healthy living, leadership and skill development. This positive experience will help them feel confident to say, "I am an athlete."
THE LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Girls want to be the kind of leader who "stands up for her beliefs and values," and "tries to change the world for the better." The highest achievement in Girl Scouting is the Gold Award, which recognizes girls who plan and execute Take Action projects in response to pressing community needs.
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is inclusive and empowering, encouraging experiential and cooperative learning.
Girl Scouts develop science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills to use in everyday life. These activities introduce them to women who are successful in science and technology careers, inspiring girls to consider careers in these exciting fields in the future.
Annual STEM programs include Math Moves U and the STEM Conference and Expo.
LEADERSHIP & SELF ESTEEM
Through activities that build self-confidence, creative decision-making skills and teamwork, girls develop real-world leadership abilities that will last them a lifetime. By working toward earned awards, girls set goals and build team spirit and communication skills.
Through activities like the Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program, girls learn to manage money, increase their income, become responsible consumers, create and follow a budget, build and manage credit, and save and invest for whatever's next.
Whether learning about endangered wildlife, planning recycling projects or working toward awards like the Environmental Health Badge and Eco-Action Interest Project Patch, girls focus on conservation and the well-being of our planet for future generations.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Girl Scouts is committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, accessible and empowering for all girls, where they can meaningfully participate in activities together and access the many opportunities available throughout our council. Girl Scouts welcomes diversity in race, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status, sexual orientation and opinion, and embraces inclusion, an approach that seeks to ensure that every person, regardless of ability or background, can meaningfully participate in all aspects of an activity.
