Wheelock Family Theater - Oliver! (Boston)

Oliver! is a musical by Lionel Bart, based upon the novel “Oliver Twist” by Charles Dickens. Notable for the unromantic portrayal of criminals and their sordid lives, the story exposes the cruel practice of child labor and the recruitment of children as criminals. Mocking hypocrisy with sarcasm and dark humor, the musical serves morality with froth and cream. Directed by Susan Kosoff. Scenic design by Anthony Hancock. Costume Design by Charles G. Baldwin.
