Exploring the Night Sky (Waltham)
Join Galileo and his assistants for a day of astronomy and telescopes. Galileo and his assistants will be spending the day with Cadette Girl Scouts. Galileo will share his invention of the “spy glass” and discuss some of his “latest” observations of the moon and stars. We will learn about telescopes, star maps, and how to locate constellations and stars in our Night Sky. We will assembly a Galilean telescope, learn how to focus it and how to use it to observe the stars, moons and planets. Mr. Mike Francis will share his planetarium with us to experience the current evening sky. By the end of the program, participants will have the tools they need to be able to share with younger Girl Scouts what they have learned.
